Engine oils are a blend of two components – base oils and additives. Every oil is blended to meet the required lubricant performance of the legislation standards, together with the application, whether it is an engine, transmission or hydraulic oil. The choice of base oil can be mineral, This distinction may seem odd but not all motor oil is good for gas engines. The difference is especially of interest to those who notice that diesel oil is much cheaper and would like to use it in their gas engines to save money.

Motor oil lubricates engine components and cuts down on friction. Friction causes increased heat (which increases wear) and the engine parts to slow down. Motor oil creates a small barrier or film between the parts in order for them to slide past one another. The slippery portion of parts increases efficiency, The purpose of engine oil is to keep the internal parts of your car's engine lubricated and cool. It keeps the moving parts from grinding against each other causing wear and damage. Without frequent oil changes, dirt and sludge can build up in the engine, and old, dirty oil won't lubricate Hence, the lower the number, the less viscous or "thinner" the oil. A multigrade oil is "flexible" than the single grade oil (like SAE 30, 40), hence, it is being used in a wide range of operating temperature, say zero (or minus zero) to 100 deg. C or more when the engine is operating. Oil is the substance that lubricates the internal moving components of your vehicle's engine. There are many different types of oils on the market suitable for car engines but there are some basics that you should know when purchasing an oil. Viscosity. This is simply how readily the oil flows. High mileage motor oil, with its unique additives and formulation, helps to reduce oil burn-off, and helps prevent oil leaks that may occur in older engines. Conventional Motor Oil. Conventional motor oils can be formulated in a range of viscosity grades and quality levels. Conventional motor oil is recommended for drivers with simple engine The difference found in motor oils are basically in their viscosity (means the "thickness" of the oil) and service quality (relates to the amount and quality of additives or enhancements that are added to it). Viscosity is governed by industry st
